SMS Consent

This page describes how a person who calls a business that uses the TenFour Pro Service (a “Caller”) agrees to receive a text message from that business, exactly what is sent, and how to stop it. TenFour Pro LLC (“TenFour Pro”) sends these messages on the business’s behalf as its service provider; the business you called is the sender. It is published so that Callers, our customers, and messaging carriers can see the consent flow as it actually happens on the call. Read it together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How consent is collected
Consent is verbal and is collected on the phone call itself. There is no web form, checkbox, or keyword opt-in for Callers, and no number is ever texted that was not given by the Caller on that call.
- A Caller phones a business at its published number. The call is answered by the business’s TenFour Pro virtual receptionist, which announces at the start of the call that it is an AI assistant and that the call is recorded.
- The Caller gives their name and a callback phone number. The receptionist reads the number back and asks the Caller to confirm it.
- If the Caller books a non-emergency appointment, the receptionist asks, before booking it, in these words:
“Can I text the confirmation to this number? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime.”
In Spanish: “¿Le puedo enviar la confirmación por mensaje de texto a este número? Pueden aplicar tarifas de mensajes y datos, y puede responder STOP en cualquier momento.”
- A text is sent only if the Caller clearly says yes. If the Caller says no, gives an unclear answer, or is not asked, no text is sent. The appointment is booked either way.
- A yes and a no are both recorded with the appointment. An unclear answer sends nothing and is not recorded as a refusal. The call recording and transcript are retained for the period described in the Privacy Policy.
What is sent
One message: a confirmation of the appointment the Caller just booked, identifying the business by name. For example, for a business named Acme Plumbing:
Acme Plumbing: you're booked for Monday, August 18; technician arrives between 2:00 PM PDT and 4:00 PM PDT. Reply STOP to opt out.
If the business owner later responds to the Caller’s request, the Caller may also receive one status message from the business: that a technician is on the way, that the business is unavailable and will follow up, or that the business could not reach its team in time. That message answers the Caller’s own service request and is sent on that basis. It is never sent to a Caller who said no when asked.
These messages are transactional and specific to the Caller’s own service request. Message frequency varies with the request, and is typically one to two messages per booking. Message and data rates may apply. There are no marketing messages, no recurring campaigns, and no links.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to stop all further texts from that business. Reply HELP for help. A Caller can also answer “no” when the receptionist asks, in which case nothing is sent.
Numbers and consent are not shared
Mobile numbers and the consent given on the call are used only to send the messages described above, on behalf of the business the Caller phoned. They are not sold, and they are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Messages are delivered through our SMS subprocessor, Twilio, under the service-provider terms described in our Privacy Policy.
